With nimble hands, she folded the box into the shape, peeling free a wide square sticker, a courtesy warning, and smoothing it into place. The woman, Marie, joined the NK team in 2007, and over the years has been cross-trained in Kestrel, DROP, and much more. Today, you'll mostly find her packing Kestrel products into their boxes. When asked about the job, Marie said she enjoys the hands-on experience, adding fondly, "I like the people."
When not on the clock, Marie loves to travel and meet new people, which she often does through her church. An active member, she attending retreats, works the kitchen and is studying to become a minister. And she’s not stopping there. Marie plans on traveling to other areas, including Spain and Malawi, hoping to pursue a mission trip.
A lover of life, Marie adopts the motto, "Whatever happens, happens." She is a loving mother and grandparent who feels proud to have come so far in life. On top of it all, Marie is a seventeen-year breast cancer survivor. A week after her last chemotherapy, Marie stepped into the chapel at her daughter's side and led her down the aisle.
"I get to celebrate each year. I’m proud."
