Kestrel Precision Shootout Kicks Off Match Weekend with Charitable Event to Benefit Disabled US Veterans

Ballistics Weather Meter Manufacturer Invites the Public to Help Support Wounded Vets by Participating in Family-Friendly Fundraising Effort Featuring Target Shooting + Prizes

Nielsen-Kellerman (NK), creators and manufacturers of Kestrel® Ballistics Weather Meters, and title sponsor of Kestrel Precision Shootout, announces a new event to benefit veterans to start off the 2018 competition weekend. The Kestrel charitable event will support nonprofit group, HAVA (Honored American Veterans Afield), and take place on Friday August 17, 2018. The official Kestrel Precision Shootout match will follow taking place August 18-19, 2018 at Peacemaker National Training Center, in Gerrardstown, WV.

For the second year in a row, Kestrel Ballistics is hosting a fundraiser as part of the Shootout weekend to benefit the military community. HAVA is a nonprofit organization that aids disabled soldiers as they transition to back to civilian life. On Friday, August 17, participants will have several opportunities to shoot at short and long-range targets for the chance to win from a large collection of big-ticket prizes totaling more than $25,000. Donations start at $10 per shot with entrants receiving a raffle ticket for giveaways and can choose between different stages to compete for prizes. All interested shooters, including friends and families, are welcome to come from 12PM– 5PM -- no experience necessary. Lunch will be provided for participants as will on-site shooting instruction, ammo, stage rifles, and Kestrel 5700 Ballistics Weather Meters available for use. Prizes include LaRue Tactical Upper Kits, Ruger Rifles, Kestrel 5700 Elite Ballistics Weather Meters, Leupold Optics, Proof Research Barrels, Vortex Binocular and Riflescope, Sig Sauer rangefinder, Prime ammo, Mystery Ranch gear and so much more!

The 3rd annual Kestrel Precision Shootout is one of the matches in the Precision Rifle Series; a multi-event series that was created to organize a championship style point series race of the best precision rifle competitions and shooters in the nation. The Kestrel Precision Shootout will host shooters who will be faced with targets out to over 1,000 yards, using semi-automatic or bolt action rifles with magnified optics.
